There is something about adventure that awakens our senses and makes us feel alive again. It awakens the courage to stand for what you want, even when it’s frightening. The unknown can be scary but also very exciting, especially when you can embrace the wisdom in uncertainty. Adventure requires us to confront our fears with vulnerability, which is a huge opportunity for personal growth. Some may think that in order to live an adventurous life they need to travel around the world or climb mountains—that can be done, but there are also plenty of ways to bring adventure into your everyday life from right where you are!

Adventure, quite simply, is about having an experience that is new and different.
Adventure is not just about travel. It’s about the journey, not the destination–adventurous people seek out new experiences large and small and lean beyond their limits in order to live fully and free. They live life on their terms, doing things that bring happiness rather than only what the world expects of them.
Adventure is about living with passion and purpose; it’s the opportunity to challenge yourself and grow while exploring your what interests you in ways that you never thought possible (or even knew existed).
Adventure is about going beyond the known
The journey into the unknown can be a scary one. It requires us to confront our fears with vulnerability, which is an opportunity for growth. Fear has its place in life; it’s part of being human and helps us become stronger by learning from our experiences. But if you’re not facing your fears head-on, they will only get worse over time rather than better.
Adventure is about going beyond the known–to push yourself out of your comfort zone and let go of control in order to experience something new. If you have an adventurous spirit inside you but don’t know where or how to start exploring this side of yourself, here are some suggestions:
-Take a class in something you’ve never done before, like dance or martial arts. -Learn how to play an instrument. -Go rock climbing or hiking with friends (if you’re not already doing so). -Join a book club.
Adventure awakens our senses and makes us feel alive again.
Adventures awaken our senses and make us feel alive again. The sights, sounds, smells, tastes and textures of an adventure are not just stored in your brain but also embedded into your body’s memory.
Emotions are key to making memories–and what we experience through our senses is a big part of how we form those emotions. Adventurers describe their sense of wonder as they encounter new things or situations; they feel alive again through this heightened state of awareness that stimulates their senses with new experiences that spark creativity and pleasure; their five senses bridge their inner world (mind) and outer world (body).
The sensory-rich experiences of an adventure are stored in your brain as well as your body’s memory. Your brain is like a computer that stores information, but it also processes this information and makes sense of it by linking it to other memories. This helps us make decisions and solve problems on the fly. These fast calculations help us to more fully emerse ourselves in the experience of adventure and more thoroughly enjoy our time.
Adventure brings out a sense of wonder and curiosity in us, which is why children are naturally drawn to it.
Adventure is a state of mind. It can be an approach to life, but it’s also something that awakens the child within us and helps us feel alive again.
Adventure isn’t just about exploring new places or trying new things; it’s about finding joy in small things and re-connecting with yourself on a deeper level. It requires you to think outside the box and challenge your beliefs about what’s possible in this world.
Adventure is about challenging your own limitations in thought and action, exploring new places, trying new things, and finding joy in the small things of life. Adventure requires you to think outside the box and challenge your beliefs about what’s possible in this world.
Adventure allows us to tap into our inner child, which keeps us feeling young at heart.
As adults, we often need to be reminded of our inner child. Our inner child is an inextricable part of us that is curious, playful and adventurous. It’s the part of us that remembers what it was like to live with childlike abandon and can still find joy in simple things like a new toy or game.
It’s easy for this part of ourselves to get lost along the way as we mature into adulthood and become more goal-oriented–but it doesn’t have to be this way! By reconnecting with your inner kid through adventure (and maybe even letting him/her out from time-to-time), you’ll keep yourself feeling young at heart while also reaping other benefits such as increased confidence and improved mental health!
When was the last time you got out and did something just for fun? Maybe you’re still feeling the effects of a recent vacation (which is great!) or maybe it’s been some time since your last adventure. Whatever the case may be, find ways that help inspire you to get up and go!
With adventure comes the unknown and, though uncertain, it can be exciting.
The unknown can be scary, but it can also be exciting. It’s a place of possibility and opportunity, where you have no idea what will happen next–and that means no expectations or assumptions to get in the way of your enjoyment.
There are many ways for adults to break out of their comfort zone and experience new adventures. Here are just a few examples:
-Take a class at a new school or college. -Go on an adventure with friends or family members. -Get together with someone you haven’t seen in a long time and reminisce about old times. -Do something spontaneous, like taking off for the day without telling anyone where you’re going or what your plans are for when you get there.
You don’t have to travel around the world to live an adventurous life! But do not postpone living your adventure for one more moment.
The easiest way to begin is by doing something you’ve never done before with someone you love and trust. For example, try a new sport or activity together as a family; go for a walk in a park where you get lost and then find your way out again (and maybe even make up some stories along the way); eat at an ethnic restaurant you’ve never tried before; take up painting or another hobby that will allow each of your senses–taste, touch, smell and sight–to awaken in new ways.
During challenging times or if you feel stuck in life, when you feel the urge to go on an adventure bubble up inside of you, act on it! You don’t have to travel around the world or climb Mount Everest–I encourage you to just take that first step out of your comfort zone. And remember: no matter how many times you fall down (you will as we all do), there is one less way not to do something and always another chance for success!
